Our bilam (adults, old people) are the keepers of the culture and traditions. These are passed down to all the dhaanban (people / family) some traditions are only for the dhaan (men) and others are only for the yeeran (women). Some traditions which are held by the werngari (cleverman) will only be passed on to upcoming werngari. Some traditions are not shared with madjar (white man / ghost) or winjamri (white woman) as they are sacred traditions only for the Butchulla people.
